I am Kristin Harper, a freelance science writer and editor interested in how scientific discoveries affect the way we live. Sometimes, though, I find that the personalities and back stories involved in these discoveries are even more fascinating.

I have a PhD in Population Biology, Ecology, and Evolution and an MPH in Global Epidemiology from Emory. After grad school, I headed to Columbia University, where I was a Robert Wood Johnson Health & Society Scholar for a few years and then a Cancer Epidemiology fellow in the department of Environmental Health Sciences at Columbia University Medical Center.
